Courses 2007 Date to be Announced

The Miners Hut offers an informative and interesting Geology course. This is a 2 day course, usually run over a weekend, designed to introduce the science of geology to adults. We start with the big bang and move though geologic time to present day. We discuss rock formation and types, crystal systems, ways to identify rocks and minerals and the tools used in the identification process. By the end of the course you will be able to identify ten common minerals, know the crystal systems, and have a better understanding of how rocks and minerals are formed.

We also have a kids club, The Mini Miners, this club is designed for primary school children. They receive in the mail a newsletter full interesting facts, followed by an activity sheet. They also get a personal invitation to The Miners Hut to pick up a free treasure from the earth, ususally a tumbled stone or a crystal point matching the topic of the month.

At The Miners Hut, you'll find a large selection of common and rare Australian minerals, and mineral specimens from all over the world. I also have access to the biggest dealers in Australia, so finding the piece you’re looking for is easy, plus there are lots of local specimens from the Bathurst region available. Specimens range in price from $2 to $2000.
